Pilates

Pilates is a great way to improve your strength and flexibility all at the same time. We have 3 combined reformers and trapeze towers that give you that extra challenge and allow you to strengthen in a variety of different positions. We also do some mat work exercises with balls and rollers which are easy enough for you to continue doing at home. There are no more than 3 people in a class to ensure you get the best supervision, the ability to use all the equipment plus get a discounted group rate.

Class times:

Wednesday – 5:15-6:00pm

Thursday – 5:15-6:00pm

We frequently run more classes dependent on the demand for them. Please call the clinic to check if there are any additional classes running.

Before attending a class you will need to have an assessment with a physiotherapist. During this assessment your transversus abdominis (core stomach muscles) and pelvic floor muscles if necessary (yes even men have these) will be assessed using a real time ultrasound. This allows both you and the physiotherapist to see your muscles working and make sure that the right ones are doing most of the work. The physiotherapist will then create your own individualised program during the program. This means that even though you are in a “class” you are going to do the exercises that will benefit and suit you the most.

Appointments are necessary for all classes as they are very popular and tend to book up. Health fund rebates are available for both the assessment and the classes.
